Here at karenscraftshop, Karen specializes in the Intarsia form of wood art. What started out as a simple hobby has lead to this wonderful method of expression. From a simple low budget scroll saw, all "by hand" sanding and shaping, Karen has steadily increased her knowledge and capabilities, as well as her tool types to be able to produce some of the beautiful pieces of scroll saw work you'll see here. My Little Pony |

Wood Species used in this scrollwork piece: Clear Walnut for the nostril, Clear Basswood for the body, head and ears, Clear Red Cedar for the mane, and the eye is a Red Cedar knot. There are 19 pieces in all. The size is approximately 11" H. by 10" W. No stain is used and it is finished in 3 coats of clear lacquer for years of lasting beauty. You'll have a work of art to pass on to future generations of your family. These also make wonderful lasting gifts to friends as well. |

Two varieties of long stemmed roses. They are actually the same pattern but of different wood species.
This is a good example of how the blending of the colors can turn the Intarsia into such works of beauty.
These are orderable as single items or the pattern may be reversed to make a matching accent pair. For a larger view click on them. |
